CASE STUDY

AusDef News

AUSDEF News is Australia's leading video news service dedicated to the defence industry.

The southern hemisphere has a new home for defence industry news.

On a mission to provide unique, engaging coverage of important issues relating to Australian Defence, AUSDEF News launched in late 2022 with all guns blazing.

Eager to have an established online presence in time for a fast-approaching industry event, the ambitious startup turned to Pagemasters Publish. Swiftly customising the out-of-the-box Vita theme to suit the bold new brand, Publish integrated AUSDEF’s advertising, analytics and marketing accounts, provided CMS and website training for staff, and ensured the site was live ahead of schedule.

Visitors to the website require a login to access its brilliantly produced newscasts and other exclusive content, but signing up is free. Subscribers also receive regular digital newsletters, with the Publish platform’s multipurpose paywall facilitating growth of the AUSDEF contacts database.

“We examined a number of options before deciding on Publish,” editor Justin O’Brien said. “The biggest issues for us were start-up capital and general platform complexity. Publish solved both of these problems from the get-go.”

Working closely with Defence companies across Australia, the AUSDEF team provides more than just premium content for subscribers and a niche offering for sponsors; they also deliver a wide range of video and marketing production services. Armed with a new subscription website, AUSDEF News is going great guns.
