Founded in 1991, media solutions provider Pagemasters – a division of Mediality – in 2017 launched its first website on what is now the Publish platform.

Initially working with a third-party tech provider to develop monetisation and engagement features that accompany feature-rich website designs, Pagemasters in mid-2021 became proprietary owners of the platform to ensure optimal service and support for its range of clients.

Dozens of those customers are regional Australian newspapers. The Publish CMS is used by teams in Victoria, NSW, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, and it is also the platform of choice for New Zealand’s daily Gisborne Herald.

From quarterly Tasmanian magazine Forty South to Jarrah Media’s trio of monthly and bi-monthly mags – about old machinery, vintage trucks and beekeeping – Publish is also a proven tech solution for publications that print less frequently – or not at all. 

In partnering with Publish, leading B2B e-newsletter The Weekly SOURCE evolved into a subscription website; the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation has grown its digital audience as it approaches 50 member nations; and start-up AUSDEF launched a video news service focused on the defence industry.

Monash University, meanwhile, has two Publish websites: Lens highlights the work of their research and academic communities through articles framed by current affairs, while Mojo is an independent outlet run by the university’s journalism and media communication students.

In 2023, some 70 websites were powered by Publish.
